| It was the Union Depot because the Jacksonville, St. Augustine & Halifax Railway, St. Augustine & North Beach, St. Johns Railway, and St. Augustine & Palatka Railroad used the depot. It was opened on January 10, 1889. Today, part of the park remains that used to contain a flower garden and two fountains (formerly 75 x 300 feet). The cost of the depot property was $20,054 for 10 and 94/100 acres of land. |
