Dear Sir - In reply to yours of the 23rd inst I submit the following Sypio Miller was a member of Company "G" 33rd Regiment having enlisted in the later
part of the year 1862 at Beauford, S. C. and at Camp Saxon.
I Benj Martin enlisted in the same Company at the same time. I know Sypio Miller to be a member of Company "G" for I was a member of Company # of the
same Regiment at Beaufort South Carolina.
John W. Welters
Notes:
Confusing?
A statement by John W. Welters that say "I Benj Martin". My conclusion is that this is missing the word "and". Corporal Benj Martin was also a member of
company 6.
It appears that John Welters wrote his own statement....no witnesses and no mark.
