| Judge Gold: I wish you could give Scipio a pass to use durring his lighting up the Presbyterian Church. It is too troublesome to write a pass every night or two. I have no objection to Scipio having meetings at his house if you choose to allow it. Yours, M. Tucker Scipio the slave of M. H. Tucker is employed to light up and take charge of the Presbyterian Church and as it is not always convenient to procure a pass from his Master I do hereby (with the permission of his Master), permit him to pass and repass on his duty connected with the church. 20th July, 1846 M.
