Deputy Sheriff Si Davis had an exciting and successful chase after Joe Edwards, colored, yesterday evening. Joe knew that he was wanted and upon landing of the central basin in his boat from "nowhere". A friend gave him a tip and he lit out down the river. Si didn't notice the tactics, but all the same kept the boat in view till he saw Joe turn into the San Sebastian, when Si cut across county to the English Mills and procuring a boat rowed out to meet the fugitive. Joe, being on the alert, took to the slat marsh; so did Si Davis, and the don't-go-as-you-lease gambler was overhauled by Si's pop and jailed.
