Return to Dr. Bronson's St. Augustine
Building the Old Jail
Mr. Scott will at once let the contracts for the lumber, iron, sashes and other material, and as soon as
possible work will begin. Mr. Phillip Prioleau has been engaged to superintend this building and will
survey the lot and attend to the preliminaries at once. Mr. Prioleau is well known here as a competent
archtect as well as engineer, and the taxpayers of St. Johns County may feel assured that the work of
building a jail is in competent hands.
