Collectors Report 1827-1830
|
St. Augustine Historical Society:
|
 MC17 Box 6 B6F2 and From Taxes 1821-1837 B6F3
|
Editors note: What can you learn from this collection of 1827 St. Augustine City Taxes? First, it serves as a census of 1827.Â
While not everyone in St. Augustine is listed, property owners and a host of other taxpayers are listed. Second, you learn detailed
information about the economic status of your family in comparison to the rest of the community. (Please note that this only
gives information about people who lived inside the city limits.) Please note the difficulty in understanding the spellings of
peoples first and last names in this particular article. If you have any questions, please check the original documents.
